Welcome to C4GH

Center for Geo-Hazard

The official website of Center for Geo-Hazard (C4GH) research group at the Parahyangan Catholic University, Faculty of Engineering.

The Center for Geo-Hazard (C4GH)

is a multidisciplinary research center under the Faculty of Engineering, Parahyangan Catholic University, dedicated to understanding, modeling, and mitigating geological hazards such as mudflows, landslides, and liquefaction. Grounded in geotechnical expertise and strengthened by both national and international collaborations, C4GH responds to disaster challenges through data-driven engineering and field-based research.

Our research integrates geotechnical engineering, geological engineering, and rheology fundamentals with practical application, with focus areas including:

  • Landslides/Slope Stability
(Natural slope, man made slope, dam)
  • Mass Movement
(Mudflow, Debris flow, Lahar flow, Flow liquefaction, Hyperconcentrated flow)
  • Liquefaction
  • Quick Clay
  • Volcano Eruption
  • Mud Volcano
  • Geotechnical Forensic
  • Soil Behavior (Mudflow)

Our research is guided by our motto:

“Engineering Resilience from Disaster”

Disasters offer valuable lessons.
At C4GH, we transform those lessons into engineered resilience – from stabilized slopes and effective early warnings to actionable hazard maps and technical policy input.

Greeting from C4GH Director

Greetings and best wishes,

As the Director of the Center for Geo-Hazard (C4GH), I extend a warm welcome to all visitors to our official website. C4GH was established as a dedicated research center focusing on adaptation and resilience studies in disaster risk management, supporting the creation of sustainable and resilient communities in the face of geological hazards.

The foundation of C4GH is driven by the urgent need to deeply understand Indonesia’s diverse geological disaster potentials, while also fostering adaptive and resilient communities and environments. With the vision of becoming a Center of Excellence at national and international levels, C4GH is committed to advancing scientific knowledge, making academic contributions, and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration to support disaster risk mitigation.

This website serves as a bridge for communication and collaboration among academics, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders, both locally and globally. We invite you to join us in contributing to the realization of a sustainable and resilient environment through research, innovation, and collective action.

Thank you for visiting and for your attention.

Warm regards,
Ir. Budijanto Widjaja, Ph.D.
